Year 6 STEM Discovery Day

On Friday, 20 June 2025, from 9.00am to 2.15pm, young learners will have the chance to broaden their horizons at a unique STEM Discovery Day.

Set in the beautiful grounds of Concordia Lutheran College Senior College, this event is focused on engagement and designed to inspire and ignite a passion for discovery and innovation.

Unlocking Potential through Hands-on Experience

The day will kick off with fascinating activities such as 3D Modelling & Laser Cutting, where students will bring their creative ideas to life. Using advanced technology, they’ll have the opportunity to design and produce their own 3D models.

Participating students will also explore the world of Drone Technologies. Here, they will uncover the science behind these incredible flying machines and participate in exciting challenges designed to test their newfound skills.

There is also a Food Technology science session that covers Fermentation & Pickling. Students will learn about the chemistry of food preservation and create tasty dishes.

Inclusive, Exciting, and Educational

True to our commitment to inclusivity, participation in our Year 6 STEM Discovery Day is entirely free, including a sausage sizzle for lunch. Vegetarian options are also available to accommodate dietary preferences.

What to Bring

As students gear up for the day, they are reminded to wear their usual school uniform and closed-toe shoes, bringing along a water bottle to stay

hydrated throughout the activities. Concordia Lutheran College will provide all necessary materials and equipment.
