Concordia CUA Colour Run unites students for fitness, fun and fundraising

Tuesday 25 Sep

Staff, students, parents and guests enjoyed a spectacular day of fun and excitement at the Concordia CUA Colour Run on Wednesday 13 September.

We were blessed to have a bright, sunny day and unseasonably warm weather with temperatures nearing 30 degrees.

Students gathered to enjoy the barbecue and snow cones on offer from the Student Representative Council before preparing to run the course.

With an inflatable tunnel and arch, flags, markers and signs set up on the oval, students took to the course with gusto.

Staff members and invited guests including members of the local Police and Fire Brigade and Member of Parliament David Janetzki MP were waiting to douse the students with colour as they passed by. Our friendly firemen even turned the hose on to cool students down in the heat.

We were honoured to have former Queensland cricket stars Lee Carseldine and Brendan Nash join us for the event to promote the positive messages of health and fitness to students.

To add to the fun, we had the crew from Channel Seven's Morning Show join us for the day. We look forward to seeing the story when it goes to air next month.

Students have been fundraising through the event for Concordia's successful Makerspace program. Thanks to everyone who has supported this initiative. We look forward to seeing how much is raised when fundraising finishes on 6 October.

Many thanks to everyone who helped to make this event a reality - it was a sensational day that showcased the wonderful College spirit at Concordia Lutheran College.
